I first approached AgWork NZ some two years ago to enquire regarding labour availability for our Marlborough vineyard. Looking for a machinery operator for a 6 month placement I contacted their team and asked if they would consider stepping sideways from their normal working criteria and consider a tractor driver for our vineyard operation. This was met with a very positive response and very quickly we were working alongside our first AgWork vineyard tractor driver. That first season proved highly successful and we are now into planning our second work placement with AgWork. I see this very much as a long term relationship, the standard of their candidates is very high, the AgWork team work very efficiently with the end result being us employing a motivated and intelligent northern hemisphere Agric/Hortic student. This season’s candidate is already booked in (the first we interviewed) and we are looking forward another good season with our AgWork student.
